Doctor's consultation for weight loss
Where does systematic weight loss begin?
A weight loss consultation is the first stage of the Medical Weight Loss program.
Medical weight loss does not start with medication.
It starts with a proper assessment of the body's condition and the causes of weight gain.
People come for consultations to:
- get a clear weight loss strategy
- deal with insulin resistance and metabolic disorders
- adjust hormone therapy or thyroid treatment
- review previous prescriptions and supplements
- determine whether medication is needed to support weight loss
What is analyzed during the consultation
We examine in detail:
- Overall health and chronic diseases
- Medication and supplement use
- Hormonal balance
- Menstrual function (in women)
- Energy levels, libido, and signs of hormonal imbalance
- sleep quality
- emotional state
- previous experience with weight loss and “breaking points”
If there are results of laboratory or instrumental studies, they must be taken into account.
Objective assessment of body condition
The following is performed:
- body weight measurement
- volume assessment
- body composition analysis
- fat and muscle mass ratio
- assessment of visceral fat levels
This allows us to see not only the number on the scales, but also the actual structure of the body.
Selection of medication support (if indicated)
If there are medical indications, the consultation discusses the appropriateness of modern therapy to reduce appetite and improve satiety, in particular drugs that patients often know by the names Ozempic, Mounjaro, Retatrutide.
Peptide therapy for weight loss.
Important: the decision on therapy is made individually and only after assessing the condition of the body.
Formulation of a strategy and action plan
The following is determined together with the patient:
- target weight
- realistic pace and timing of weight loss
- risks of relapse and weaknesses of previous attempts
- need for sleep correction
- the need for additional diagnostics
If the examination results are already available, an individual treatment plan is developed. If the tests are insufficient, an examination plan is first drawn up, after which a treatment strategy is developed.
The patient receives a clear written plan of further steps.
Examination plan
If necessary, an individual diagnostic plan is developed.
Diagnostics allows us to:
- confirm or rule out insulin resistance
- assess the hormonal profile
- identify deficiencies and metabolic risks
